Mental Health Training Modules
ICC TAC is the Illinois Campus Cares Technical Assistance Center. We offer training and technical assistance to help Illinois colleges and universities build awareness, recognize when someone may need support, and respond in ways that promote well-being.
The three modules below address different campus audiences and provide practical guidance for navigating mental health concerns, and supporting peers and students. Each module provides links to connect individuals with appropriate mental health resources in their community (for participating colleges and universities).

1. Foundation Module
Intended audience: General campus community
This introductory module offers a starting point for anyone interested in strengthening their understanding of mental health. Participants can build awareness of common mental health concerns, consider how to approach someone who may be struggling, and learn about pathways to additional support.
2. Student Module
Intended audience: College students
College students can play an important role in creating a campus culture where people feel comfortable seeking help. This module explores ways to recognize when a peer may be having a difficult time, offer support without judgment, and identify resources that can help.
3. Instructor Module
Intended audience: Faculty and instructors
Faculty and instructors may be among the first to notice changes in a student’s behavior or engagement. This module offers guidance on identifying potential concerns, approaching conversations with care, and helping students connect with appropriate campus or community services.
