2026-2027 Mental Health First Aid Dates

Build the Skills to Support Mental Health

Knowing how to respond when someone is struggling with their mental health, behavioral health or substance use can make a meaningful difference.

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an evidence-based training that helps participants recognize, understand and respond to someone experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge. Similar to traditional first aid, MHFA provides the knowledge, skills and confidence to offer support during a mental health or substance use crisis until professional help is available.

Who can benefit from MHFA certification?

MHFA certification is for anyone who wants to feel more prepared to recognize when someone may be struggling and respond with empathy, safety and care.

Educators, managers, community leaders, healthcare workers, first responders, parents and peers may find the training especially valuable. More broadly, MHFA can help individuals build safer, more supportive environments at work, in educational settings and throughout their communities.

By becoming certified, participants can help reduce stigma, encourage open conversations about mental health and substance use, and recognize concerns earlier so people can connect with appropriate support.
